The Bill was adopted on first and second readings on December 1, 1992, and December 15, 1992, respectively. Signed by the Mayor on January 14, 1993, it was assigned Act No. 9-394 and transmitted to both Houses of Congress for its review. D.C. Law 9-248 became effective on March 25, 1993.
