This chapter shall take effect on 60 days after the expiration of the District of Columbia Workers' Compensation Act Emergency Amendment Act of 1982, after a 30-day period of Congressional review following approval by the Mayor (or in the event of veto by the Mayor, action by the Council of the District of Columbia to override the veto) as provided in § 1-206.02(c)(1).

Law 4-102, the "District of Columbia Workers' Compensation Act of 1979 Amendments Act of 1982," was introduced in Council and assigned Bill No. 4-314, which was referred to the Committee on Housing and Economic Development. The Bill was adopted on first and second readings on February 9, 1982, and February 23, 1982, respectively. Signed by the Mayor on February 26, 1982, it was assigned Act No. 4-161 and transmitted to both Houses of Congress for its review. References in Text The "District of Columbia Workers' Compensation Act Emergency Amendment Act of 1982," referred to near the beginning of this section, is D.C. Act 4-160.
